Our doctors are committed to providing their patients with a gentle, pain-free, dental experience. We understand the fear and anxiety can sometimes inhibit them from seeking dental care. As part of our commitment to treat these patients, we offer several options to help in the reduction of fear and anxiety.
An inhaled gas which provides light relaxation. The gas takes about 5 minutes to take affect and can be lowered or raised to suit an individual patients needs. Following its use, you will receive 100% Oxygen for 5 minutes to clear its affects from your system. You can drive immediately following its’ use.
These orally administered drugs provide excellent results in reducing fear and anxiety, and a deeper level of relaxation than nitrous oxide. They may be combined with nitrous oxide to increase the amount of sedation if needed. These medications will be dispensed to you prior to your treatment appointment with specific instructions and will require you to be driven to and from the office.
The highest level of sedation that we offer in our office. Sedative medications that put the patient into a light sleep are given through an IV line. The patients vital signs are continuously monitored duringthe appointment. This is ideal for patients whose procedures are time consuming or intensive, such as oral surgery. Due to the lingering affects of the drugs, patients do require drivers to and from the office.
